A prayer for priests

Heavenly Father,
our Founders taught us to
pattern our lives on the
mystery of your Son’s Cross.

Through the power of your
Spirit, consecrate afresh
our priesthood in the
service of your kingdom;
that we, standing at the
foot of that same Cross,
may offer our lives with
His, as a sacrifice
acceptable in your sight.

For the sake of Jesus Christ
our great high priest, who
is the same Lord, yesterday,
today and forever.

Amen.

A prayer for the Faithful

Heavenly Father,
send down your Holy
Spirit upon all your
faithful people; and
strengthen us to offer
our lives in the service
of your Kingdom.

As we seek to follow in
the way of the Cross may
we always be prepared to
`Stand up for Jesus’ and
steadfastly proclaim that
he is Lord to your honour and glory.
